We’re putting prevention above treatment.

Because healthcare should be proactive, not reactive.

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” - Benjamin Franklin

Eudaimonia is a pioneering global youth movement committed to transforming mental health and eating disorder treatment from reactive to proactive. Our mission is to drive this change through educational and policy reforms. What began as a heartfelt vision by Rhea Werner in 2020 has now blossomed into a movement that has positively impacted 1 million children and generated $55 million with the help of dedicated partners.

Education Reform

We fundamentally believe that prevention starts at the education level. That’s why we aim to collaborate with education entities, lawmakers and curriculum agencies to create change in this area. In this sector, we have been able to achieve Australian Curriculum change (removal of the BMI and “good / bad food” references in the education curriculum. Additionally, our founder Rhea led the youth development of the world’s first body image teacher masterclasses with the Embrace Hub.

Policy Change

Stemming from the COVID Pandemic where treatment centres in Australia had 4 months waiting list, we have been advocating for a greater policy shift towards proactive policies, as well as a greater inclusion of culturally diverse health services. To date, we have achieved and lobbied for $55 million in policy, including Australia’s National Eating Disorder Strategy (the first of its kind in the world), alongside the Australian Minister for Healthcare and Aged Care (Hon. Mark Butler).

What We Do

Advocacy & Resource Translation

People of CALD background (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) background often get left out of the conversation; we aim to lift these voices up by catalysing structural change. Whether it be through holding keynote youth speeches (see left) at the Annual Mental Health Foundation Australia Summit, or successfully for the implementation of culturally-aware mental health services at the Royal Children’s Hospital (impacting 95,000), we believe that CALD voices need to be represented in healthcare.
