International Teacher Masterclass
Designed for teachers and educators, The Embrace Kids Teacher Masterclass provides in-depth insights into understanding body image issues among students of all ages and offers practical strategies to support kids’ wellbeing. As part of the larger Embrace Kids Classroom Program, the Teacher Masterclass is one of the tools that is driving systemic change within the education sphere, and is backed by evidence-based research.
The Masterclass is free to view, is aligned to the Australian Curriculum, Health and Physical Education and is appropriate for school Wellbeing programs for Year 5 & 6 students in Primary, and Year 7 & 8 students in Secondary schools. It can be accessed alongside body-image resources that reflect the K-10 Learning Standards as outlined by ACARA.
In collaboration with Harvard STRIPED and the Embrace Hub, we created Australia’s first adolescent-focused culturally diverse eating disorder module, which is currently being implemented into the National Curriculum by the Western Australian Government (impacting 450,000 students)
This extends on our work with the Embrace Hub (which founder Rhea Werner leads the Youth Initiative of)
Created the “Embrace Kids” Teacher Masterclass - the world’s first eating disorder modules directed to build body-confidence in primary and secondary school students
Spearheaded the world’s first body summit with a $50,000 grant from VicHealth (Embrace Activate Event) with over 1000 attendees at our 10+ events
Led the youth implementation of the “Body Confident Sporting Guidelines”, which are the first Australian Sporting Guidelines designed to promote body confidence among adolescents in sport
Launching the National Eating Disorder Strategy with the Hon. Mark Butler (Australian Minister for Healthcare and Aged Care), National Eating Disorder Collaboration (NEDC), Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) and the Embrace Collective.
Hosting the world’s first body confidence summit, which brought together over 100 adolescents from across Australia to discuss and ideate a body-confident future.
